Where it came from
Nissa, Resurgent Animist was released as part of the Secret Lair drop series, a specialized line of limited-edition cards for Magic: The Gathering. This specific card was featured in a collection showcasing the iconic Planeswalker Nissa Revane, reimagined through various artistic lenses to emphasize her deep connection to the nature of the Multiverse and her role as a protector of elemental forces.
The card features art by Aleksi Briclot, a veteran illustrator in the Magic: The Gathering sphere. Briclot utilized a vibrant, high-fantasy style intended to capture Nissa's resurgence and her innate link to the land. The reception among players was largely centered on its utility in Commander formats, where the card’s ability to generate mana and provide card advantage through landfall triggers made it a notable acquisition for green-aligned decks.
