Where it came from
Sigarda's Aid was originally released in the 2016 Magic: The Gathering expansion Eldritch Moon. The card was designed to support equipment and aura-based strategies, specifically within the Selesnya colors, by allowing players to flash these permanents into play and attach them instantly. This promo version, identified by its collector number 41s, was distributed through Wizards of the Coast's organized play programs to reward participants and promotional efforts during the set's release window.
The artwork for this card was created by illustrator Johannes Voss, who is well-regarded in the community for his ethereal and high-fantasy aesthetic. Voss intended to capture the protective, angelic nature of Sigarda, depicting her bestowing favor upon her followers. The design has been widely received as a powerful and essential staple in Commander and various Constructed formats, valued for its efficiency and the utility it provides in streamlining the play of combat-oriented decks.
