The Zendikar Rising Art Series was released by Wizards of the Coast in 2020 as a promotional companion to the Zendikar Rising set for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. These cards were designed to highlight the high-fidelity landscape art commissioned for the expansion, which revisited the fan-favorite, adventure-themed plane of Zendikar. Unlike standard cards, these feature full-frame illustrations without the traditional gameplay text, intended specifically for collectors who appreciate the atmospheric world-building associated with the franchise.

This particular Swamp, marked as collector number 13, features the work of artist Titus Lunter. Lunter is a long-standing contributor to Magic: The Gathering, known for his capability to blend fantasy concepts with dramatic, naturalistic lighting. The design goal for this series was to evoke the wild, untamed nature of the Zendikar plane, emphasizing the 'hedrons' and floating terrain elements that define the setting's aesthetic. The reception from the community was positive, as it provided an accessible way to collect professional-grade concept art that previously only appeared as small, functional illustrations on standard cards.
