Where it came from
The Keeper of Favorite Cards, indexed as RW90d, originates from a specialized series of collectible cards often associated with ephemeral promotional events rather than a primary retail set. Produced during a period of experimentation within the hobby, this card was designed to highlight the sentimental value collectors place on their personal archives. It serves as a meta-commentary on the act of curation, positioning the 'keeper' as a steward of nostalgia.
The design aesthetic favors a minimalist, archival look, likely intended to blend into a variety of personal collections without distracting from the primary focus of the owner. While the illustrator remains uncredited in public databases, the composition reflects a deliberate effort to evoke the aesthetic of a classic library or ledger system. Upon its release, it was received as a niche curiosity, primarily sought after by those who appreciate self-referential items that acknowledge the collector's role in the lifecycle of a card.
