Where it came from
Three Tree City was released in 2024 as part of the Bloomburrow set for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. Designed as a powerful land card, it leans into the set's anthropomorphic woodland creature theme, providing players with a strategic resource that scales based on the diversity of creature types under their control. Its mechanics reflect the set's emphasis on tribal synergy within a whimsical, fairytale-inspired landscape.
The artwork for this specific promotional version features detailed, lush illustrations consistent with the artistic direction of the Bloomburrow expansion. By focusing on the concept of a central hub for the set's various forest-dwelling species, the design captures the collaborative spirit of the game's world-building. Upon release, the card was received with significant interest by the player base for its utility in Commander format, quickly becoming a staple for decks reliant on creature-type coordination.
