Where it came from
Together Forever was released in 2020 as part of the Zendikar Rising Commander set, a collection of supplemental cards designed specifically for the Commander multiplayer format. This card serves as a thematic continuation of the game's focus on creature-based resilience, providing players with a recurring method to protect and return creatures from the graveyard to the hand, a mechanic that leans into the set's broader mechanical identity of adventuring and land exploration.
The artwork was illustrated by Magali Villeneuve, a prominent figure in the Magic: The Gathering artistic community. Villeneuve's design choices emphasize a warm, evocative aesthetic that captures the card's theme of enduring partnership. Upon its release, the card was received as a versatile utility piece for white-aligned decks, praised for its ability to generate incremental value over the course of a long game.
