Whispersilk Cloak

Whispersilk Cloak was originally released in the 2004 Magic: The Gathering set Darksteel. Designed as an artifact equipment, it reflects the block's thematic focus on metallic, indestructible, and utilitarian constructs. The card provides a distinct mechanical combination of shroud—which grants untargetability—and unblockability, positioning it as a powerful tool for protecting key creatures while ensuring they can connect with an opponent directly.

The card features artwork by Christopher Moeller, who captured the cloak as a shadowy, ethereal garment flowing against the rigid, cold aesthetic of the Mirrodin plane. Over the years, the card became a staple in casual Commander formats, leading to its inclusion in The List, a curated selection of reprints that Wizards of the Coast inserts into Set Boosters to bridge the gap between contemporary sets and the game's expansive history.
