Winter Orb

Winter Orb was originally released in the Alpha set of Magic: The Gathering in 1993, designed by Richard Garfield as a disruptive artifact to slow down the pace of the game. Its unique ability to prevent lands from untapping during their owner's untap step became a defining mechanic for control archetypes, forcing players to manage their mana resources with extreme caution.
