Moriarty the Patriot, Vol. 13

Moriarty the Patriot, written by Ryosuke Takeuchi and illustrated by Hikaru Miyoshi, began serialization in Jump Square in 2016 as a creative reimagining of Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes universe. The series flips the traditional perspective by centering on William James Moriarty, framing him not as a simple villain, but as a complex strategist aiming to dismantle the rigid class structure of Victorian-era Britain. This approach proved highly successful, appealing to readers who enjoy dark, intellectual narratives paired with stylish, gothic-inspired character designs.

Volume 13 serves as a pivotal installment in the series' later arcs, continuing the refined aesthetic established by Miyoshi. The character designs throughout the series are noted for their sharp, detailed Victorian costumes and expressive emotional depth, which help ground the series' high-stakes sociopolitical intrigue. Published in English by VIZ Media, this volume continues the localization efforts to maintain the series' distinct tone and artistic integrity for an international audience, remaining a staple for fans of psychological historical fiction.
