The Complete Poetical Works of Samuel Taylor Coleridge: Poems

The Complete Poetical Works of Samuel Taylor Coleridge, encompassing his foundational contributions to the Romantic movement, represents a critical compilation of verses produced during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. These poems, including masterworks such as The Rime of the Ancient Mariner and Kubla Khan, were born from Coleridge's intense exploration of the sublime, the supernatural, and the psychological depths of the human experience. The collection serves as an enduring record of his collaborative spirit and his profound influence on English literature.

This specific edition, cataloged within the University of California library system, reflects the standard efforts of 20th-century publishers to curate and preserve the totality of Coleridge’s verse for academic and public inquiry. Such editions typically rely on authoritative manuscripts and chronological arrangements established by scholars to provide a definitive reading experience. By gathering these fragmented works into a single volume, editors intended to bridge the gap between Coleridge’s historical literary output and the accessibility required by modern readers.
