Where it came from
The Shanks character card, numbered OP13-065 from the 'Carrying On His Will' expansion set, reflects the ongoing narrative arc of the One Piece Card Game. Released as part of the series produced by Bandai, this card captures the iconic Red-Haired Shanks, a central figure in the franchise’s lore. The set was designed to explore pivotal moments and character legacies within the series, emphasizing the thematic continuity that defines the game's expanding roster of character cards.
The design of this card incorporates the vibrant, high-contrast aesthetic synonymous with the One Piece trading card line, blending Eiichiro Oda’s original manga illustrations with the specific art direction intended for the game's competitive play. It was received by the player base as a significant addition to the meta, appreciated both for its tactical utility and the detailed depiction of a character whose sparse appearances in the source material make any high-quality card rendition highly desirable among collectors.
