Where it came from
Full Circle is a collaborative album originally recorded in 1982 by Can co-founder Holger Czukay, bassist Jah Wobble, and drummer Jaki Liebezeit. The project emerged from a period of creative cross-pollination within the post-punk and experimental circles of the early 1980s, serving as a bridge between the motorik precision of Can and the dub-influenced atmospheric experimentation favored by Wobble following his tenure in Public Image Ltd.
The 2018 release by Grönland Records functions as a long-awaited reissue, bringing these unconventional sessions back into print for a modern audience. The design and production reflect the austere, avant-garde sensibilities of the original participants, emphasizing rhythmic interplay and textured soundscapes over traditional song structures, which remains a hallmark of the collaborative work between these three influential musicians.
