Nils Holgersson - Wunderbare Reise Des Kleinen Nils Holgersson Mit Den Wildgänsen - Folge 3

This record is a 1981 audio adaptation of Selma Lagerlöf's classic 1906 Swedish children's novel, The Wonderful Adventures of Nils. Produced by Poly during the early 1980s, these audio dramas were released to coincide with the popularity of the animated television series adaptation of the story. By utilizing radio play techniques, the label aimed to make the sprawling, fantastical journey of Nils Holgersson accessible and engaging for a younger generation of listeners who were experiencing the narrative through new media formats.

The production leans into the evocative tradition of German-language Hörspiele, a format that flourished in the late 20th century as a primary medium for storytelling. The design reflects the whimsical yet pedagogical intent of the original literature, focusing on the transformative journey of the protagonist who is shrunk to a miniature size. As part of a multi-part series, this third installment maintains continuity in narrative style and sound design, which were generally received by critics and families as nostalgic, high-quality audio experiences that preserved the heart of Lagerlöf's literary work.
