Nils Holgersson - Wunderbare Reise Des Kleinen Nils Holgersson Mit Den Wildgänsen - Folge 2

This record is part of a series of German-language audio adaptations of Selma Lagerlöf's classic 1906 novel, The Wonderful Adventures of Nils. First published in Sweden as a geography textbook for children, the story follows a boy shrunken by a house gnome who travels across Sweden on the back of a goose. By the early 1980s, the story saw a resurgence in popularity across Europe, bolstered by the success of the Japanese anime production that aired on television during the same period.

Released under the Poly label in 1981, this audio drama was designed to bring literary storytelling into the living rooms of young listeners during the height of the cassette and vinyl record era for children's entertainment. The production team focused on atmospheric narration and character-driven voice acting to capture the whimsical yet moralistic tone of the original text. These records are now collected primarily as nostalgic artifacts of European children's media from the late twentieth century.
