Nils Holgersson - Wunderbare Reise Des Kleinen Nils Holgersson Mit Den Wildgänsen - Folge 7

This record is part of a series of German-language audio adaptations based on Selma Lagerlöf's classic 1906 novel, The Wonderful Adventures of Nils. First published to promote geography and nature study among Swedish schoolchildren, the story follows a mischievous boy transformed into a miniature sprite who travels across Sweden on the back of a goose. By the early 1980s, the narrative had seen a resurgence in popularity due to a collaborative Japanese-German-Austrian animated television adaptation, which prompted labels like Poly to produce these episodic radio play records to capitalize on the show's widespread success.

The production style of the Poly releases reflects the typical audio-drama format of the era, focusing on immersive voice acting, sound effects, and orchestral arrangements to bring the folklore-inspired journey to life for young listeners. These records were intended to provide an accessible, narrative-driven experience for children, serving as both educational material and evening entertainment. While the source material remains a pillar of world literature, these particular vinyl recordings are remembered by collectors as nostalgic artifacts of European children's media during the peak of the animated series' cultural reach.
