Nils Holgersson - Wunderbare Reise Des Kleinen Nils Holgersson Mit Den Wildgänsen - Folge 1

The 1981 release of Nils Holgersson on the Poly label serves as an audio adaptation of Selma Lagerlöf’s 1906 literary classic, The Wonderful Adventures of Nils. Originally commissioned as a geography reader for Swedish schools, the narrative evolved into a global phenomenon that blended folklore with educational intent. By the time this vinyl recording was produced in the early 1980s, the story had gained renewed international visibility through the popular Japanese-German animated series, which influenced the aesthetic and tone of this spoken-word adaptation.

This particular record is part of a series produced for a German-speaking audience, capturing the whimsical and moralistic journey of the titular protagonist. The design and audio production reflect the era’s commitment to high-quality children’s radio dramas, utilizing atmospheric soundscapes and skilled voice acting to bring Lagerlöf's expansive landscapes to life. Upon its release, the series was well-received by families looking to preserve traditional storytelling in an increasingly media-saturated landscape, maintaining the emotional resonance of the original text.
