Mirror Force

Mirror Force was first introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in 2002 as part of the Metal Raiders expansion. Designed as a high-impact trap card, it was conceptualized to balance the game by providing players with a defensive mechanism capable of punishing aggressive opponents. Its mechanic, which destroys all attack-position monsters upon an attack declaration, quickly became a staple in competitive play and remains one of the most recognizable defensive cards in the franchise.

The version from the Starter Deck: Codebreaker, released in 2018, features the classic card design and artwork that depicts a mystical, reflective barrier deflecting an onslaught of attacks. This particular reprint serves to introduce newer players to iconic cards from the game's history, maintaining the card's original utility and visual language. While the rarity was adjusted to common for this deck, the card remains a testament to the enduring strategic foundations laid by the game's original designers.
