Where it came from
The Colección Miguelanxo Prado, published in Spain during the 1990s, was designed to bring together the varied works of the celebrated Galician illustrator and comics artist. At a time when Prado was gaining significant international acclaim for his sophisticated narrative style and intricate, painterly approach to the medium, this series served as a curated retrospective of his shorter stories and experimental graphic works.
The series is noted for its high production quality and its role in cementing Prado's status as a master of visual storytelling. By highlighting his distinct blend of melancholy, surrealism, and sharp social observation, the collection allowed readers to track his evolution from a graphic experimenter to a refined visual novelist. It remains a hallmark of Spanish contemporary comics, praised by critics for its cohesive presentation of an artist at the height of his creative powers.
