Die tollsten Geschichten von Donald Duck – Sonderheft #402

The 'Die tollsten Geschichten von Donald Duck – Sonderheft' series has been a staple of the German comic market since its inception in 1965, published by Ehapa. Designed to bring high-quality international Disney stories to a German-speaking audience, these issues traditionally focused on longer-form narratives and reprint collections, often highlighting the work of legendary artists like Carl Barks and Don Rosa. The series served as a vital cultural bridge, solidifying the popularity of Duck-universe characters in Germany.

Issue #402 continues the long-standing tradition of this anthology, which is noted for its enduring layout and characteristic digest-style presentation. While individual issues are often curated to feature specific thematic collections or specific creative contributors, the series as a whole is celebrated for maintaining a consistent visual identity that reflects mid-century comic book design sensibilities. It remains one of the most prolific and long-running comic publications in Europe, widely received as a definitive record of the classic Donald Duck era.
