La Zorra y el Cuervo #34

La Zorra y el Cuervo was a prominent Cuban humor magazine that began publication in the mid-1960s, serving as a vital outlet for satire and social commentary during a period of significant cultural transition. Issue number 34 emerged as part of this broader tradition, which focused on using anthropomorphic characters and witty, sharp-edged storytelling to navigate the complexities of life in revolutionary Cuba. The publication was heavily influenced by the style of classic fables while adapting them into a modern, distinctly Cuban visual vocabulary.

The artistic direction of the magazine was defined by a collective of talented local cartoonists and illustrators who prioritized accessible yet intellectual humor. Their work often featured the titular Fox and Crow, whose dynamic served as a recurring vessel for allegorical tales. While the individual creators for specific issues were often part of the magazine's dedicated staff, their collective output was well-received for its ability to balance lighthearted escapism with the nuanced social critique expected by the Cuban readership of that era.
