Oltretomba Collezione #56

Oltretomba Collezione was a long-running Italian horror comic series published by Edifumetto during the 1970s and 1980s, a period defined by the popularity of 'fumetti neri' or dark adult comics. This particular issue, number 56, was crafted to cater to a readership fascinated by transgressive themes, gothic aesthetics, and serialized macabre narratives that thrived in the vibrant landscape of Italian newsstand paperbacks.

The series relied on a rotating team of illustrators and writers who worked under the distinct house style mandated by publisher Renzo Barbieri. Like others in the series, issue 56 emphasizes high-contrast black-and-white art and provocative storytelling. These issues were intended for quick consumption and are now preserved by collectors as artifacts of a unique era in graphic literature, reflecting the evolving boundaries of pulp horror and erotic suspense of the time.
