Devil Kuromi

The Devil Kuromi Funko Pop, numbered 64 in the Sanrio series, represents a specific variant of the popular Sanrio character Kuromi. Kuromi was introduced by Sanrio in 2005 as a rival to My Melody, characterized by her black jester’s hat with a pink skull symbol and a mischievous, punk-inspired aesthetic. This particular figure captures her devilish persona, which is core to her design identity as a character who enjoys pranking others while maintaining a cute, edgy appearance.

The design of this Pop! figure leans into the iconic visual cues established by Sanrio illustrators, specifically emphasizing the jester aesthetic and the skull motif that defines the character. As part of the wider Sanrio Pop! line, it was produced to cater to the significant cross-generational appeal of Japanese character culture. Upon its release, it was well-received by fans of the franchise who appreciated how the stylized, oversized-head aesthetic of the Pop! vinyl form translated Kuromi's unique personality into a collectible format.
