Where it came from
The Katy Pop! figure, numbered 852 in the Marvel collection, was released by Funko to coincide with the 2021 film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. The figure depicts the character Katy Chen, played by Awkwafina, dressed in her signature casual attire from the film's climactic battle in Ta Lo. Its release was part of a broader marketing wave designed to support the introduction of new heroes into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Funko’s design team utilized their standard stylized aesthetic to capture Katy’s likeness, focusing on the character's recognizable hairstyle and practical combat vest. Like other entries in the Marvel Pop! series, the figure is intended for mass-market appeal, serving as a collectible memento for fans of the franchise. It has generally been received as a faithful, accessible representation of the character's cinematic appearance.
