Blossoming Sands

Blossoming Sands was first released in 2015 as part of the Fate Reforged set for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. It belongs to a cycle of 'gain lands'—dual-colored lands that enter the battlefield tapped and grant the player two life—which were designed to provide accessible mana fixing and incremental stabilization for Limited and Standard play environments during the Khans of Tarkir block.

The card features artwork by the illustrator Jung Park, who leaned into the lush, rugged aesthetic of the Abzan Houses, a faction centered on endurance and desert survival. The design intent was to reflect the harsh yet verdant nature of the plane of Tarkir. As a common-rarity utility land, it was well-received by players for its practical utility in multicolor draft decks, serving as a reliable staple for budget-conscious players during its time in the competitive rotation.
