Command Tower

Command Tower was originally introduced in the 2011 Commander release, designed to solve a fundamental deck-building constraint in the multiplayer Commander format. By providing access to any color of mana based on the commander's color identity, it ensured that players could reliably cast their spells regardless of their deck's complexity. Its inclusion in 'The List'—a rotating selection of cards reprinted in Set Boosters—is a testament to its status as a foundational utility land essential for nearly every multi-colored deck.

The card's design is utilitarian and iconic within the Magic: The Gathering community, focusing on clean mechanics that prioritize gameplay flow. While 'The List' version typically retains the original artwork by Florian de Gesincourt, its inclusion serves as a strategic update for players who need easy access to this staple. The card is widely received as an auto-include in almost every Commander deck, representing a rare example of a card that is both ubiquitous and universally necessary for the format's health.
