Command Tower

Command Tower is a fundamental utility land in Magic: The Gathering, first introduced in the 2011 Commander product line to provide a stable mana base for multi-colored decks in the Commander format. Its design reflects the strategic necessity of color fixing in a format where players typically construct 100-card decks using cards from a wide variety of sets. Over the years, it has become a staple of the game, appearing frequently in preconstructed decks and supplemental sets to ensure accessibility for players of all levels.

This specific iteration from Mystery Booster 2 features a stylized, minimalist aesthetic that departs from the traditional, highly detailed illustrative style often found in core set versions. Mystery Booster 2 was designed by Wizards of the Coast to celebrate the history and diversity of the game, utilizing a unique card frame and art treatment that evokes a sense of curated nostalgia. It was received as a welcomed variation by collectors who appreciate unconventional card treatments that maintain the mechanical identity of an essential gameplay tool.
