Command Tower

Command Tower was originally introduced in the 2011 Commander product line as a staple utility land designed specifically for the multiplayer Commander format. The card quickly became a foundational element of deck construction due to its ability to produce any color of mana in a format where players typically use multicolored decks, effectively solving the resource constraints that previously hindered non-Green strategies.

This specific iteration originates from the 2022 Warhammer 40,000 Commander decks, a collaboration between Wizards of the Coast and Games Workshop. The design features new illustrative work by Games Workshop’s internal art team, intended to evoke the grimdark aesthetic of the 41st millennium. By incorporating the iconic gothic architecture of Imperial fortresses into the card's frame, the art successfully bridges the visual language of Magic: The Gathering with the established, industrial atmosphere of the Warhammer universe.
