Command Tower

Command Tower was originally introduced in the 2011 Commander product line, designed specifically to serve as a staple mana-fixing land for the increasingly popular multiplayer format. Its inclusion in the Secret Lair series, specifically the 1989 release, marks the evolution of this functional utility card into a collectible art piece. By providing a reliable source of any color of mana, the card became an essential inclusion for almost every multi-colored deck, quickly establishing itself as one of the most widely played cards in the game's history.

This particular version features an aesthetic departure from the standard set printings, often utilizing unique illustrations commissioned to offer a stylistic reimagining of the classic structure. The Secret Lair series intentionally focuses on artist-driven interpretations, moving away from traditional fantasy tropes to explore diverse visual languages. This iteration was well received by the player community, who viewed it as a high-visibility opportunity to customize their commander decks with premium, stylized artwork that distinguishes their collections from standard tournament-grade components.
