Provenance

Where it came from

The Construct token (R1) was released as part of the Mythic Edition Tokens set, a limited-run promotional series distributed by Wizards of the Coast. These tokens were designed to offer high-quality, aesthetically elevated versions of the creature tokens frequently generated by cards in the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. They emerged during a period when the company was experimenting with premium collectible experiences for dedicated players and enthusiasts of the game's evolving visual identity.

The design of the Mythic Edition tokens generally emphasizes intricate, high-contrast digital illustrations that distinguish them from the standard tokens found in booster packs. By focusing on a distinct, polished artistic style, the set aimed to provide a sense of scarcity and visual continuity for players using high-rarity decks. As a specific entry in the series, the Construct token reflects the minimalist, mechanical-yet-fluid aesthetic often associated with artifact-themed cards within the game's expansive lore.
