Provenance

Where it came from

Demonic Tutor was originally released in the 1993 Alpha set as part of Magic: The Gathering's debut, quickly becoming one of the most iconic and powerful utility cards in the game's history. Its inclusion in the 30th Anniversary Edition, released in 2022, serves as a non-tournament legal celebration of the game's origins, featuring the classic original artwork by Douglas Shuler.

The 30th Anniversary Edition was designed to commemorate three decades of the franchise by reprinting historically significant cards with their original aesthetics. While these cards feature updated card frames and holographic stamps for authentication, they retain the original illustration styles that defined the early visual language of the game, appealing primarily to collectors and enthusiasts of Magic's legacy.
