Where it came from
Inti, Seneschal of the Sun was released in late 2023 as part of The Lost Caverns of Ixalan set for the Magic: The Gathering trading card game. The character serves as a representative of the Sun Empire, a faction within the Mesoamerican-inspired plane of Ixalan, designed to reflect the set's themes of subterranean exploration and ancient, solar-focused mythology.
The card features artwork by illustrator Johannes Voss, who utilized a vivid color palette and dynamic lighting to emphasize Inti’s connection to the sun. This specific version is a promotional variant, distinguished by the 's' suffix in its collector number, which typically denotes a specific distribution method such as participation in local game store events. It was well-received by players for its efficient design in red-aligned decks.
