Llanowar Elves

Llanowar Elves has been a staple of the Magic: The Gathering trading card game since its original release in 1993, representing the quintessential green mana-acceleration creature. The version from the 2002 World Championship Decks was designed to replicate the exact decklists used by top-tier competitors at the 2002 World Championship tournament held in Sydney. These decks were produced by Wizards of the Coast as a commemorative product, allowing players to own and play with the same card configurations used by professionals during that specific high-level meta.

The artwork for this specific printing retains the classic aesthetic that defined the early era of the game, emphasizing the mystical nature of the Llanowar forest. While the card is functionally identical to the standard versions found in contemporary expansion sets, the 2002 World Championship print is distinguished by its unique gold-bordered frame and the printed signature of the professional player who utilized it in their deck list. This design choice was intended to serve as both a functional tool for casual play and a memento of competitive history.
