Restoration Angel

Restoration Angel was originally released in the 2012 Magic: The Gathering set Avacyn Restored. This specific version is a promotional card, distinguished by its unique art and the star symbol next to the collector number, which was distributed as a prize or participation reward for sanctioned events during the set's release window. The card itself became a centerpiece of competitive play shortly after its introduction, defined by its efficient power-to-cost ratio and the ability to flicker other creatures to save them from removal or trigger enter-the-battlefield effects.

The card features artwork by Johannes Voss, a frequent contributor to the game who is known for his atmospheric and ethereal aesthetic. Voss sought to capture the protective, divine nature of the Angel character while adhering to the gothic horror-inspired visual identity of the Innistrad plane. Upon release, the card was lauded for its strategic versatility, and the promotional variant remains sought after by collectors for its distinct illustration and its status as a notable artifact from one of the game's most popular eras.
