Restoration Angel

Restoration Angel was originally introduced in the 2012 set Avacyn Restored, designed to be a high-powered creature that reinforced the set's themes of protection and divine intervention. Its ability to blink other non-angel creatures provided significant tactical versatility, allowing players to save permanents from removal or trigger enter-the-battlefield effects again. Because of this utility, the card quickly became a staple in multiple formats, particularly in Modern and Legacy, where it enabled numerous combo strategies and solidified itself as one of the most iconic white creatures in the game's history.

This specific printing comes from the Kaldheim Commander set, released in 2021. As a reprint included in the 'Elven Empire' deck, it retains the original illustrative work by Johannes Voss, whose ethereal, cinematic style has become synonymous with the character. By the time this version was released, the card had long since been accepted as a cornerstone of deck-building, and its inclusion in a Commander product was intended to provide players with an accessible, high-utility tool for white-based strategies.
