Where it came from
Search for Tomorrow was originally released in the 2006 Time Spiral set, designed as a green sorcery that facilitates mana ramp by allowing players to suspend the card for a later turn. This reprint, featured in the 2022 Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur's Gate expansion, updates the card with art tailored to the Dungeons & Dragons aesthetic, integrating the mechanics of the Forgotten Realms setting into the broader Magic: The Gathering ecosystem.
The illustration for this iteration was crafted by artist Lie Setiawan, who focused on capturing the sense of arcane exploration central to the Dungeons & Dragons experience. The design aims to balance the functional utility of the card, which remains a staple in casual Commander decks due to its efficiency, with the immersive, fantasy-oriented art direction established for the Baldur's Gate crossover set.
