Where it came from
Search for Tomorrow was originally printed in the 2006 Time Spiral expansion and subsequently featured as card number 77 in the 2009 Planechase release. This sorcery card was designed to support the mechanics of the format, specifically by helping players accelerate their mana resources while preparing for the volatile shifts of the Planechase environment.
The artwork, illustrated by Aleksi Briclot, emphasizes the theme of temporal searching and the vast, shifting nature of the multiverse. Briclot's design was intended to evoke a sense of unfolding landscapes, fitting the card's ability to pull land from the deck into play. It has been well-regarded by players as a staple for its reliable utility and efficiency in green-based decks.
