Selesnya Sanctuary

Selesnya Sanctuary is a land card belonging to the 'bounceland' cycle, originally introduced in the Ravnica: City of Guilds set. The card represents a location within the Selesnya Conclave, one of the ten guilds of Ravnica, which is themed around nature, community, and communal living. The Sanctuary design was created to provide players with a color-fixing mana source that simultaneously grants an advantage in land density by returning a land to the hand, allowing for the reuse of enter-the-battlefield effects.

This specific printing comes from the Commander 2020 release, which featured decks designed for the multiplayer Commander format. The illustration for this version retains the organic, architectural aesthetic characteristic of the Selesnya, depicting the guild's massive, tree-integrated structures. While the card is a functional reprint of the original design, its inclusion in the Commander series helped ensure its accessibility to players looking to build multicolored decks in a format where efficient mana base development is a core necessity.
