Selesnya Sanctuary

Selesnya Sanctuary first appeared in the 2005 Magic: The Gathering expansion Ravnica: City of Guilds. It represents a 'bounceland,' a type of utility land designed to provide two colors of mana while incentivizing a strategic tempo trade-off by returning another land to the owner's hand. Its design reflects the Selesnya Conclave, a guild centered on nature, community, and the communal growth of the plane of Ravnica, often visually depicted with sprawling arboreal architecture and lush, integrated greenery.

The version from 'The List' is a reprinting of the card within a curated selection of cards that Wizards of the Coast includes in Set Boosters. This specific iteration, bearing the CMM collector prefix, maintains the original mechanical utility that established it as a staple in Commander and other casual formats. It was illustrated by John Avon, who utilized his signature style of vibrant lighting and atmospheric depth to capture the tranquil yet fortified aesthetic of the Selesnya guildhall.
