Selesnya Sanctuary

Selesnya Sanctuary is a recurring land card within the Magic: The Gathering ecosystem, first introduced in the Ravnica: City of Guilds set in 2005. It represents the Selesnya Conclave, one of the ten iconic guilds of the plane of Ravnica, characterized by their focus on nature, community, and white-green mana. The card is part of a cycle of 'bouncelands' that enter the battlefield tapped and require the player to return a land to their hand, a mechanic designed to balance their ability to provide two colors of mana.

The version from the Murders at Karlov Manor Commander set features updated art commissioned to reflect the aesthetic of Ravnica's detective-themed mystery expansion. While the core functionality remains consistent with its original release, these reprints are integrated into themed Commander preconstructed decks to provide mana fixing for players. The design has remained a staple in casual and multiplayer formats for nearly two decades due to its efficient mana production, despite the inherent tempo drawback of the land-bounce mechanic.
