Selesnya Sanctuary

Selesnya Sanctuary is a bounceland originally introduced in the Ravnica: City of Guilds expansion, representing the lush, communal garden-cathedrals of the Selesnya Conclave. The card functions as a dual-colored land that provides a mana advantage by generating two mana of different colors, balanced by the requirement of returning a land to the player's hand upon entry. This mechanic reflects the Selesnya philosophy of interconnected growth and shared resources, forcing players to manage their board state carefully.

The artwork for the Commander 2016 printing features a serene, verdant landscape designed to evoke the organic architecture of the Conclave. Like other cards in the bounceland cycle, it is a staple in the Commander format due to its utility in landfall-focused decks and its ability to reuse lands with beneficial enter-the-battlefield effects. The design, emphasizing both utility and flavor, has made it a persistent presence in Selesnya-aligned decks since its initial release.
