Swamp

This Swamp card was released in 2014 as part of the Duel Decks: Speed vs. Cunning expansion for Magic: The Gathering. Duel Decks were a recurring product line designed to provide players with two balanced, ready-to-play decks intended for head-to-head competition, often highlighting thematic rivalries within the game's lore. This particular deck explored the conflict between the rapid, aggressive tactics associated with the Speed deck and the more calculated, tactical strategies of the Cunning deck.

The card features artwork commissioned by Wizards of the Coast to fit the dark, atmospheric aesthetic of the game's various planes. Like many basic lands in Duel Decks, this illustration was intended to ground the player in the thematic environment of the conflict while maintaining the consistent visual language required for competitive play. These cards were generally well-received by the player community for their functional utility and the unique, set-specific art treatments that distinguished them from standard core set releases.
