Provenance

Where it came from

Terror was released in 1994 as part of the Rivals Quick Start Set for the collectible card game WildStorms. This set was designed to introduce players to the mechanics of the game, which featured characters from the popular Image Comics superhero universe. The card reflects the edgy, high-contrast aesthetic that defined 1990s comic book art, aligning with the visual style of the WildStorm imprint founded by Jim Lee.

The card features artwork consistent with the house style of the era, prioritizing bold action poses and dramatic shadowing. As an entry in a starter deck, its design was focused on gameplay accessibility and brand recognition for fans of the existing comics. While the game itself did not maintain a long-term foothold in the competitive card market, these cards remain a nostalgic touchstone for collectors interested in the intersection of 1990s comic culture and early card gaming trends.
