Tropical Island

Tropical Island from the Summer Magic set, colloquially known as the Edgar set, was produced in 1994 as a limited replacement print run for the Revised Edition of Magic: The Gathering. Following numerous errors and misprints in the Revised core set, Wizards of the Coast commissioned this internal printing to rectify color balance and card quality issues, though a significant portion of the run was destroyed or lost, leading to its extreme scarcity in the modern collector market.

The card design maintains the aesthetic language of the original 1993 Richard Garfield set, utilizing the classic dual-land frame and land-type icons. Because this set was intended to be identical to Revised but with corrected ink density, the artwork remains consistent with the original illustrator's vision, though the specific printing process resulted in unique saturation levels and card stock characteristics that distinguish it from standard production runs.
