Summer Magic, often referred to as the Edgar set, was a print run produced in 1994 by Cartamundi intended to correct the color balance and rule errors found in the earlier Revised Edition of Magic: The Gathering. Despite the intent, the set was riddled with its own unique printing errors and was ultimately intended for destruction, with only a small number of cards escaping the incinerator to become some of the most sought-after rarities in the hobby.

The art for this Plains was created by Jesper Myrfors, who served as the original art director for Magic: The Gathering. His approach for these early land cards favored a minimalist, evocative aesthetic that captured the essence of the game's various environments without the dense environmental clutter seen in later expansions. This specific iteration is particularly prized for its scarcity and the distinct, vibrant color saturation characteristic of the Summer Magic print run.
