Cyber Dragon

Cyber Dragon first appeared in the 2005 Cybernetic Revolution expansion, marking a significant shift in the YuGiOh trading card game's power curve. Its design allowed players to special summon it directly to the field if only the opponent controlled a monster, effectively changing how aggressive decks were built and played. The card was created by Konami’s design team as part of a move to introduce more high-impact, utility-based monsters that could alleviate the difficulty of playing second in a duel.

The version included in the 2015 2-Player Starter Deck: Yuya & Declan, labeled YS15-ENY04, serves as a reprinting of this iconic monster for a new generation of players. By the time this set was released, Cyber Dragon had become a staple of the game’s history, valued for its simplicity and tactical flexibility. It was included in this starter deck to provide beginners with a powerful, recognizable tool to counter their opponent’s field presence, maintaining its status as a core card for competitive and casual play alike.
