Where it came from
Preparation of Rites was originally released in the 2008 set Tactical Evolution. As a search card for Ritual Monsters and Ritual Spells, it was designed to provide much-needed consistency to a summoning mechanic that historically struggled with card economy, allowing players to bridge the gap between their hand and their deck more efficiently.
The version from Battles of Legend: Relentless Revenge, numbered BLRR-EN088, was issued as an ultra-rare reprint in 2018. This set was curated to reprint high-demand cards from earlier eras to ensure accessibility for both competitive players and collectors, maintaining the classic design elements and the essential utility that established the card as a staple for Ritual-focused strategies.
