Provenance

Where it came from

Preparation of Rites was originally released in the 2008 set Tactical Evolution. It was designed to provide essential search support for Ritual Monsters, specifically those requiring exactly level 7, effectively streamlining the consistency of ritual-based decks that were often hindered by the inherent difficulty of gathering specific cards in the hand.

The Maximum Gold printing, designated MAGO-EN144, was issued in 2020 as part of Konami's premium gold rare line. This iteration is notable for its distinct aesthetic, featuring the signature gold-bordered frame and gold-textured artwork surface that characterized the set, offering a more opulent visual presentation compared to the standard card stock used in the original release.
