Oltretomba Collezione #26

Oltretomba Collezione was a long-running Italian fumetti neri series published by Ediperiodici throughout the 1970s and 1980s. Emerging during the height of Italy's fascination with pocket-sized horror and erotic comics, the series followed the success of titles like Diabolik and Kriminal. Issue number 26, like others in the collection, served as a self-contained horror anthology or dark pulp narrative intended for adult newsstand consumption, reflecting the gothic sensibilities and transgressive themes popular in European pop culture of the era.

The aesthetic of Oltretomba is characterized by stark black-and-white art, prioritizing high-contrast imagery and moody, atmospheric layouts that defined the low-cost, high-impact style of the period. Because the series utilized a rotating roster of anonymous or pseudonymous artists typical of the rapid production cycles at Ediperiodici, specific attribution for issue 26 remains difficult to pinpoint. The series was designed for quick readability and mass appeal among adult readers looking for macabre escapism, and it was ultimately received as a quintessential representative of the inexpensive, serialized pulp horror that flourished in Italy before the decline of the newsstand market.
