Chester Cheetah

Chester Cheetah first appeared as the official mascot for Cheetos in 1986, conceived by the advertising agency DDB Needham. Created to replace the brand's original mascot, the Cheetos Mouse, Chester was designed as a cool, sunglasses-wearing leopard who embodied a mischievous and hip persona intended to resonate with younger snack consumers. His animated commercials, often featuring him utilizing his leopard spots as camouflaging tools to pilfer snacks, became a staple of television advertising throughout the 1990s.

The Funko Pop! vinyl figure, numbered 77 in the Ad Icons series, translates Chester's signature look into the brand's iconic stylized aesthetic. The design captures his characteristic grin, spiked hair, and trademark sunglasses, reflecting Funko's broader initiative to celebrate nostalgic marketing icons. Since its release, the figure has been well-received by collectors who prioritize pop culture history and the specific cultural impact of mascot-driven branding from the late 20th century.
