Where it came from
Consider was originally introduced in the Innistrad: Midnight Hunt expansion as a common card, designed by Wizards of the Coast to support graveyard-focused strategies through its surveil mechanic. Its inclusion in the Tales of Middle-earth Commander set allowed the card to be re-illustrated with art evocative of J.R.R. Tolkien’s high fantasy aesthetic, bridging the gap between traditional Magic: The Gathering utility and the thematic lore of Middle-earth.
The card was illustrated by Donato Giancola, a renowned artist known for his long-standing work with Tolkien's imagery. His design for this version of Consider emphasizes the introspective and ethereal nature of the spell, aiming to capture the weight of decision-making reflected in the card's name. Upon its release in this specific set, it was well-received by players for its elegant utility and the thematic continuity it provides within the expansive Lord of the Rings crossover collection.
